Arienda Peace Church members gave tribute at the 1st death anniversary of Rev. Cho Tae Hwan, Korean missionary who was shot to death by suspected kidnappers along Ortigas Extension,Pasig. Rev. Cho refused to let go of the van that he was driving full of korean nationals that he fetched from the airport. These visitors will help him with funds and volunteer labor in buliding houses for the members of Arienda Peace Church in Pasig.
Along his church planting work among the urban poor in Arienda, Rev. Cho was engaged in children education which was cited by UNICEF Philippines, and teaching tae kwan do for the children and youth.
When I was consoling his bereaved wife in the wake last year, she said: "it's not important for me that the perpetrators of the crime will be apprehended but that they come to knw Jesus whom Rev. Cho is proclaiming and thus be changed".
The Arienda Peace Church members had tears as they sang a hymn in Korean language, and said loud amens to the brief message I gave at the memorial service hosted by Manila New Life Church yesterday.
